THE SEMTRADES FIELD MANUAL

SEM’S TRADINGOPERATING
SYSTEM.

I’m Sem. I trade price action, mostly on Bitcoin and Ethereum. My main setup is a swing failure pattern: price moves beyond a high or low, fails to hold there and comes back inside. I then look for a trade against that failed move.

STOS: Sem’s Trading Operating System.
This is my working procedure, shared freely. Like the SOPs I use as a process operator, it connects what I observe to what I do next: where to watch, what must happen, where I am wrong and when to stop.

This framework is profitable for me over time. That is my experience, not a promise about yours. Here I explain the decisions behind it so you can understand the work and build your own evidence.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE CHART

Sem, the trader behind SemTrades
SemTrades.

SEM · THE NETHERLANDS

A trader.
An investor.
A process operator.

Hi, I’m Sem. A price action trader and investor from the Netherlands. I mostly trade swing failure patterns on Bitcoin and Ethereum, using my own capital.

I also work for a salary as a process operator. That combination gives me room to trade, invest and build without asking every trade to pay a bill. Getting there took a few expensive lessons.

SemTrades is where I share the process behind those decisions. Structure, liquidity and risk, explained from the chart through to the review. It is the resource I wish I had found when I started.

My story. Why I trade. Why I share. ↗

Giving back. Staying independent.

I learned from traders who shared openly on X. Making my own work available is my way of paying that forward. The framework, e-book and Excel journal are all free: no email signup, paywall or referral links.

I make my money through trading, investing and my salary as a process operator. SemTrades has zero monetization. I enjoy sharing what I learn and talking trading with people who care about the same things.

SIMPLE IN EXECUTION. DEEP IN UNDERSTANDING.

Simple to follow.
Worth understanding.

The execution fits into a few decisions: location, failure, entry, invalidation and objective. Behind those decisions is how I read the auction between buyers and sellers. I respond to what price shows, without knowing what comes next. The routine stays simple; learning to read it and execute under risk takes work.

Start with the setup. If you already trade this way, go straight to the context or how I read the auction. Everything is open. Read at your own pace.

THE SETUP IN PRACTICE

A failed high. A short.

Sem’s historical Bitcoin short: the push higher fails, the retest gives a short entry, invalidation sits above the high and the targets are below.
My annotated Bitcoin short. The failure gives me a place to be wrong; the lows give me an objective. Walk through this trade →

Recognising a setup and trading it consistently are different skills. The journey connects the learning, the execution, the review and the decision to grow or step back.

This is the home of my framework. On X I share chart analyses, my own trades, market thoughts and practical lessons as the work unfolds. What did I see? What did I miss? What can I do better?

Questions, feedback or a chart you want to discuss? You can find me there. I enjoy the nerdy parts of trading and the conversations around them. Follow for the framework. Stay for the journey.
